Artist statement

Eyes are my target group. Eyes which love to be fascinated and surprised like mine. My design and artwork aims to fascinate observers’ eyes and stimulate their brains, consequently, the viewers’ inner dialogue asks questions what is this object and why does it fascinate me. In this manner attributes will be found such as line, lightness, geometry and rhythm.
I am extremely interested in mathematics, especially physical structures and forms; the repetition systems of trees, self-similarities in plants and the environment, and Benoît Mandelbrot´s idea of the fractilization in nature fascinates me. The bridges between the present and eternity stimulate my imagination and encourage in me a sense of discovery.

Currently I am working on the development of a set of tableware which is based on the golden ratio of the Earth’s diameter. This is influenced by exploration of building a fractal in clay which result is highly attention-grabbing because of its mathematical foundation.
